Ah! Freedom at Last!

I spent my last days in Psych super stressed out! It was an out of the ordinary finals week, I don't know why but it seems like it would not end! But, yeah, it apparently ended. At last!

But this is definitely the end of it all. Last exam, last paper, last all-nighter! The Psych community (seniors mostly) had spend the last night/day making the most out of our last paper-making session. With the help of our dependable YM, we were able to socially facilitate each other. Haha! Of course, we all need social support, don't we? :) We wake each other up through the BUZZ! and cheer each other through our status messages. Suddenly, surveying becomes the online administered survey type, and we harrass all our friends to answer for our or our friends' researches. We not only mind our own business but we get involved with the papers of our friends, hence, although everybody is busy, we still find time to help in participant-searching (we all know what we have to go through). But as I've said, that was the last of it.

Of course I'm happy that finally we're gonna be taking a break from all the research and paper-making stuff. But I think I got too attached. There's still this momentum that keeps me going. It's seems like doing a 40-page paper overnight is not that difficult, perhaps because of automatization (are we now called experts? :)). And the rush that we feel in beating the deadline becomes suddenly a positive physiological arousal. Haha!

I love seeing PHAn during the deadline days. The lobby is full of majors, talking about funny overnight paper-making experiences (are we not used to it yet? haha!). And definitely the 10 minutes of sleep and three cups of coffee help in making us perky the morning after (despite the dead tiread body). Even Ate Marissa, kuya Collins, kuya Roman, and all the other ate's and kuya's and PHAn sympathize empathize with us. Apparently, they know the stories and are so used to the majors' rants.

Don't we just love being in Psych? And also certainly, Psych is just so full of love. :) (pardon to those who disagree). Well, I learned so much in Psych, from the psychological explanation of love, to the names of the brain structures, to the assesment tools, and of course the research process. And that's why I'm so defensive and hurt when they tell us "Wow! Wala kayong thesis, buti pa kayo!" What the..! Every paper is a thesis. Started from 118, which made us all feel that we're invinsible after that (sorry, 115 is so bleh). Then, 162, 135, 180... the fun never stops! Haha. So, non-psych must not discriminate us or underrate Psych. This is not an easy course, we don't get 1.0 because our subjects are all too easy. The Psych profs are just generous. That's why we love them all! Yeah, even those that are... uhm, nevermind. Seriously, I think he/she/they has/have to be part of the experience. Hehe.

*sigh*

I will definitely miss Psych! In due time, I'll be back! Watch out for me. :p
